EMERGENCY RESPONSE

Health sector partners provide medicines for 5.6 million people across Sudan

In 2022, health sector partners in Sudan provided medicines and medical supplies for 5.6 million across Sudan, including 3.6 million in Darfur (65 per cent of the total assisted in the country).

In Darfur, this means that 1 in every 3 people received medicines and medical supplies from WHO, UNICEF, international and national NGOs throughout 2022.

According to the 2022 Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO), the total population of Darfur in 2022 was 11.3 million people.

During 2022, health sector partners received US$89.8 million from the donors under the HRP 2022, which was equivalent to 63.7 per cent of the total requirement ($141.1 million), according to the Financial Tracking Service.
