🚦** Darfur Union in the UK at the Supreme Justice Forum: “No to war crimes, no to genocide, no to the Rapid Support Forces and the proxy war led by the UAE.”**

** 18 dead and tens were wounded on Friday 27th Sept. 2024 in ElFasher as a results of RSF shelling the city’s Mawashi Market**

We stand united in condemning the ongoing genocide perpetrated by the Rapid Support Forces in Darfur and the war crimes throughout Sudan. The UAE’s complicity in these crimes through its continued support for the militia cannot be overlooked. The actions of the Rapid Support Forces, backed by the UAE, have led to a humanitarian catastrophe across the country, particularly in the besieged city of El Fasher, where residential areas and critical infrastructure such as hospitals are bombed daily. The latest brutal attack involved the use of aerial bombardment targeting civilian areas, alongside the blatant targeting of civilians in El Fasher, resulting in the deaths of dozens of women and children—guilty only of being Sudanese.

The cycle of war crimes and the tragedies faced by the Sudanese people are sanctioned by the malevolent government of the UAE, which collaborates with international parties aiming to dominate the country at any cost. The most recent wave of bombings in El Fasher on Friday, 27 September 2024, left 18 residents dead and many others injured. The allies of the RSF work tirelessly to cover up and whitewash these war crimes, while the demand for accountability remains a vital call from the people.  It is worth noting that the failure of the current American strategy in Sudan has facilitated the ongoing genocide perpetrated by the RSF.

More than 500 days of warfare have caused millions of Sudanese to be displaced and to seek refuge both internally and externally. A severe food shortage threatens the lives of 25 million people, and the use of humanitarian corridors by the Rapid Support Forces to supply arms and fuel has exacerbated the suffering of civilians.

**To address this crisis, we call for:**

1. **Immediate International Action:** The international community must impose targeted sanctions on the Rapid Support Forces and their backers, including the UAE. It is essential to enforce these restrictions to halt the flow of resources to these perpetrators.

2. **Accountability and Justice:** Those responsible for genocide and war crimes must be held accountable. Independent investigations and prosecutions are necessary to ensure justice for the victims.

3. **Humanitarian Assistance and Protection:** Safe corridors must be established for humanitarian aid to reach all affected areas, and relief organisations should be allowed to operate without obstacles. We must protect civilians from further violence and displacement.

4. **Diplomatic Pressure:** The international community must exert maximum diplomatic pressure on the UAE to cease hostilities against the people of Sudan.

**The key to stopping war crimes does not lie within Sudan. Unfortunately, the key players are located abroad. The UAE holds this key, while the United States and the international community are slow to act because they align with the UAE’s agenda.**
